Josh’s Legacy Fundraiser 2023

Josh’s Legacy Fundraiser was held again after the success of the first fundraiser in 2022. The evening was a night to reflect on Joshua Clarke’s life and honour the legacy he left behind after his suicide in 2021.

Once again, the evening was used to raise awareness of suicide, continue conversations and hear from Josh’s Mum about the impact Josh’s suicide has had on her, their family and their village.

This years fundraiser included silent auctions, guest speaker Paralympian Kathryn Ross and MC, Matt Breen. Josh’s sister’s Taylor and Mackenzie also played an important role with entertaining the crowd with impromptu announcements over the evening.

The night followed a similar feel as last years, with some fun trivia, live auctions with awesome items, raffles, mystery bags as well as what has become a favourite – the tradie auction. This year there was a variety of trades including a chef, landscaper and beautician. Of course, the evening was wrapped up with loads of dancing and plenty of laughter.

The local community helped shape the night, generously donating awesome items:

• a signed and framed 2022 Panthers jersey, autographed by the entire team,
• a signed 2023 Brumbies jersey, signed by the 2023 team, 
• a private dinner party with a local chef and special guests, 
• weekend get aways and experiences, 
• BBQ and BBQ pack
• Car Care packs
• exclusive memorabilia and 
• so much more. 

 Josh’s Legacy Fundraiser was supported by an amazing village of people, with the event close to selling out.

The I Got You team were bursting to the brim when they announced that $50,000.00 was raised for The OzHelp Foundation.

The $50,000 was all donated to The OzHelp Foundation, a Canberra based organisation that provides support to workers in high risk, hard to reach industries including the building and construction industry, the industry Josh worked in prior to his suicide.
